Profiles We typically have 50 to 100 candidates in our selection pool at any one time. We've selected a few "typical" candidate profiles – taken from actual applications on file – to give you a sampling of the type of candidates you will see as one of our participating families. |
| Rebecca Alexandria, Virginia Rebecca has extensive childcare experience as a live-in and live-out nanny. She has worked with several families since starting her career in 1989. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin and is originally from South Dakota. She has been working for the past 4 years as a live-in Nanny for a professional couple in the Washington, DC. area. |
| Sally Nantucket, Massachusetts Sally has been a professional Nanny since 1983. Over the past 15 years Sally has worked for six families in the greater Boston area, caring for children ranging in ages form newborns to 16 years old. Sally graduated from high school in 1970 and attended Northeastern University in Boston. She is a native of Massachusetts. |
| Her references include two of her past family employers as well as the name of the director of a summer camp where she was employed for several summers of work during high school and college. Sally gets very high ratings from all her employers, including the camp director who remembers her work with children after 15 years. She also includes four extensive letters of reference that detail her work and highlights her strong skills and experience in child development. One letter states “Sally understands the pressures of being a parent and would offer to take care of the children for an overnight.” |
| Background checks for criminal and driving records show no problems. Her ERI psychological tests demonstrate an outgoing and social orientation and indicate no potential areas of concern. |
| Her essay is well written and very informative. She talks about the “great personal satisfaction” in working with children she derives from her work. Our personal interviews with her have impressed us with her honesty and this comes through on the 2 minute video tape interview available for Sally. |
| Trisha Palo Alto, California Trisha has been caring for children as a nanny since 1991. She has worked for several families in California's Silicon Valley. Trisha hails from Boise, Idaho where she graduated from high school. She also attended Mission College in California where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business in 1987. |
| Reference checks for Trisha have produced very good feedback. Her most recent employer, who is leaving California for an overseas assignment in Asia, give Trisha an outstanding reference. Their only regret is that they “can't take Trisha with them” to care for their four year old boy. Trisha's application includes an extensive and professional resume and six outstanding letters of reference from former employers. |

| Her essay is exceptionally well written. We see that she expresses herself very well and has a very good command of language. In it, she talks about coming from a family of 3 children. She says she wishes to work for a family that needs a nanny that is “caring, imaginative, responsible and has a love of the outdoors.” She visited with us for a personal interview and a video taping during a recent visit to Boston. We were impressed with her experience and maturity. |
