| Can We
Help You in Your Job Search We have two types of jobs,
live in nannies and live out jobs. We do live-out jobs in the Boston
metro area only, and to be eligible for these jobs you must be living
in this area already or have specific plans for where you will live
when you come here. We have live in nanny jobs nationwide, but predominantly
on the east coast in the suburbs of the major metropolitan areas,
like NYC, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Boston. Those live in
nanny jobs are required to offer a separate bedroom and separate
bathroom for the nanny at a minimum. However, some of those families
have more privacy to offer the nannies: third floor private suite,
basement walk-out apartment, and sometimes a separate cottage or
suite above the garage. Those nanny jobs available tend to go to
our career nannies and are much sought after and competitive to
acquire. In all cases, accommodations provided are for the nanny
alone… no boyfriends, husbands, children, or pets would be
allowed.
Our minimum requirements for all nanny jobs are as follows:
• 3 recent, professional, full-time child care experiences,
• current valid US driver’s license,
• high school diploma or the equivalent, for Au Pair candidates
• BA/BS degree or a minimum of 5 years experience, for Nanny
candidates
• ability to make a 12 month commitment with a family
• non-smoker
• competent swimmer
• fluency with the English language
• legal right to work in this country without limits (ie.
American citizenship or permanent resident status/greencard)
By “professional nanny experiences”, we mean several
things and are looking for more than just casual babysitting references.
Long term relationships, professional settings, non-family supervisors,
and more than 30 hours per week are obviously more desirable. Teaching,
camp counseling, nannying, tutoring, lifeguarding, and coaching
are some examples, but in no way would be a compete list, of the
types of experiences we consider professional. Relevant experiences
should be fairly current and verifiable, at least within the past
5 years.
We are not a sponsorship program and cannot help you acquire a
work permit or work visa. We are legally restricted from placing
candidates that do not already possess the legal right to work in
this country, and would be subject to heavy fines ($10,000+) if
we did.
I’m sorry, but we cannot help you unless you meet all of
these requirements. If you still have questions about nanny jobs
available, please click over to the “Quick Question”
page here on our website and submit your question there. Let your
in house nanny search be with Beacon Hill Nannies.
